What to Do on International Lazy Day

Today is international lazy day. All the cool kids are doing it. Even the cool moms, dads, and grandparents are up for the challenge. Being lazy ain’t easy, but here are some tips.

Tip 1: Drink a lot of alcohol

Start ASAP. This is very easy if you already have alcohol or beer in your house. If not, then command someone in your casa to fetch you your poison. Bonus points if you pass out for hours, especially on a city street.

Tip 2: Call Out of Work

I mean, who needs a job anyway? Calling out sick won’t kill you, but it sure will show your pride for international lazy day. There are so many excuses out there, such as: “I’m not feeling well”, “my car broke down”, “I have to take care of my kid/pet, etc”. Go wild. Just don’t go into work.

Tip 3: Sleep

For the love of God, cherish it. If you have it in you, sleep for about fifteen hours. That’s THE minimum laziness. If you can sleep all day, then you have proven yourself as a true success for international lazy day. Kudos, my friend.

Tip 4: Ignore People

Ugh, people. People are always nagging about what’s right and what’s wrong. They tell you their gossip and then the gossip of others. They even tell you their feelings when you couldn’t care less. Turn off your phone, your computer, your laptop, your Apple watch, your tablet, anything which means communicating with people because honestly, that’s too much to ask for on this lazy holiday in regards to communication. Au revoir people.

Tip 5: Netflix and no chill

Netflix has become the almighty God for all of us who have shared our own sense of boredom or laziness. The reason for “no chill” is because you want to be lazy and not answer someone else’s questions and/or annoying comments during your new season of Orange is the New Black. Or whatever you feel like watching. It could be a cartoon for all I care. Or a documentary. Honestly I don’t care because it’s INTERNATIONAL LAZY DAY.

Enjoy your international lazy day. Now get off the computer and be lazy. Or be lazy on the computer. You decide.

Also, thanks to a higher being, this day also allows you to snooze and not lose. How very cool.
